Ain't nothing Chi about this Town!
Updated: May 5, 2018
Chicago!!!! We LOVE this city! Seriously!
Sport, art, culture and the most beautiful skyline in all of the USA. Plus the BEST hot dogs ever! What more can you ask for.
We have been to Chicago a couple of times now and love everything about this place. There is so much to do and see - one weekend is never enough.
Chicago also has an incredible food scene - from great street food to revered high end dining - it has something for everyone! And DEEP DISH PIZZA - Chicago pies are worth the trip alone.
Here's a run down of all our favourite things to do and see in Chi-town!
1. Architecture Boat Cruise Chicago
Architecturally speaking, Chicago is the most spectacular of all the US cities (in our humble opinion). The sky line is truly beautiful and these boat cruises are the best way to see it and learn a lot about the architectural history of the city. There a few companies that run these tours (we went with )

2. Field Museum
This Field museum is a brilliant place to spend the afternoon. I have been twice now and each time have thoroughly enjoyed my visit. The highlight is "Sue" the most intact T-Rex skeleton in the entire world who looms in all her glory over the foyer of the museum. Her head is a fake as it is so heavy it cant be propped up on the rest of the skeleton (it weighs ~270kg and lives in a glass case on the second floor). Spend a few hours here and discover all the brilliant exhibitions.

3. Millennium Park/Magnificent Mile
Join the masses in taking a cool selfie with this famous Chicago icon - a giant silver bean! Random but totally cool. Wander around the park area itself and start your stroll from here along the Magnificent Mile (North Michigan Avenue) - indulge in all the great shops and boutiques and soak in the city.

4. Art Institute of Chicago
This is one of our favourite art galleries in the world. It boasts an incredible collection of art with everything from Monet to Picasso to icons of American art - this place is well worth checking out!

5. Catch a game
Chicago is a sports city. Locals love their teams and so its a great way to get into the spirit of things with the locals to catch a game of whatever. We went to a Chicago Bulls game which was so much fun. You could also catch the Blackhawks (NHL) or the Cubs (MLB) in the summer time at beautiful Wrigley field (this is on the list for our next visit).

6. Take in the city skyline from the Hancock Tower
On the Magnificent mile, you will find the Hancock Tower dominanting the city skyline. You can buy a ticket to go up to the observation deck and see this fab city from the top!
Now most importantly.......
Chicago Eats
Number one piece of advice....... come to Chi-Town HUNGRY!
